TIMBER WOLF EYES Gold Enamel 1 Kg Kilo Silver Coin 250$ Canada 2017

This 1 Kg Silver coin is the fourth in an ongoing series and celebrates the Timber Wolf, equipped with superior peripheral and night vision, with an unforgettable intensity in its gaze. The coin has an outstanding enamel-enhanced eyes coloration, a Proof quality and comes packaged in an attractive case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to only 400 pieces worldwide. The reverse design by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc features a detailed portrait of a timber wolf (Canis lupus occidentalis), also known as the Mackenzie Valley wolf. A close view of the wolfs facial features dominates the reverse, where the application of gold-toned enamel immediately pulls the focus towards its unforgettable stare. The colour effect adds a glowing intensity to each iris while darkening the pupils; breaking free from this locked gaze, a study of the wolfs other facial features shows an outstanding amount of detail. Advanced finishing and shading techniques enhance the intricate engraving and provide a breathtaking sense of depth, texture and contrast to the wolfs ears, nose, mouth and fur. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: Elizabeth II the name of the Queen, 2017 the issue date, D. Regina and 250 Dollars the face value. Timber Wolf The northwestern wolf, Canis lupus occidentalis, also known as the Mackenzie Valley wolf, Alaskan timber wolf, Canadian timber wolf, or northern timber wolf, is a subspecies of gray wolf in western North America. Occidentalis is the most widespread member of the five gray wolf subspecies in North America, with at least six different synonyms. Northwestern wolves are one of the largest subspecies of wolves with grown males weighing between 105 lb (48 kg) and 135 lb (61 kg) in British Columbia, Canada. The largest of any wolf on record was an Alaskan wolf that weighed 79.4 kilograms (175 lb). Sir John Richardson described the northwestern wolf as having a more robust build than the European wolf, with a larger, rounder head and a thicker, more obtuse muzzle. Its ears are also shorter, and its fur bushier. The item “TIMBER WOLF EYES Gold Enamel 1 Kg Kilo Silver Coin 250$ Canada 2017″ is in sale since Monday, February 06, 2017.
