Canada 2014 Rare Seven Sacred Teachings Courage Bear Gold Plated 1 Oz Silver 20 Proof Coin. Part of a Very Limited 7000 Native American Inspired Lot. Brand New Mint Condition with Original Packaging and Certificate of Authenticity. The bear is one of seven animals featured in the Seven Sacred Teachings practiced by Aboriginal people throughout North America for living a full and happy life. The bear’s lesson is courage; the ability to overcome fear, to fight for what is right, and knowing when it is best to yield. When we face difficult challenges, the bear will support us and guide us towards the wisdom and strength of our inner warrior. There is a time for everything; a time to yield and a time to fight. The bear teaches this well when it sets aside its shy and solitary nature to reveal its inner strength. A mother bear defending her cubs is unstoppable; she is ferocious and will fight to the end. She does this because she knows it is right. It takes courage to stand up despite the fear. Such strength is not only physical, but mental and moral as well. Every person faces challenges that need the support and guidance of the courageous bear. Fine silver (99.99% pure) with selective gold plating. Nathalie Bertin (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse).

This coin is the first in a series of seven coins that celebrates the First Nations spiritual belief in the Seven Sacred Teachings, which are Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth. These teachings have a history that runs old and deep into early Aboriginal history, and are still practiced by many First Nations cultures across Canada. This coin displays a potent image of the silhouette of a person enveloped within the frame of an eagle; the eagle’s magnificent wings fold to give the creature a heart shape in tribute to Love, the first Sacred Teaching. The eagle has culturally been entwined with the Sacred Teaching of Love in First Nations history for a long time; the reasoning is that the eagle can reach the greatest heights of all the creatures, granting pure vision to the seeker. In that vein, not only can Love between two people elevate consciousness, but self-Love, without which loving someone else is impossible, can bring one the clearest views on their path of self-fulfillment. This one ounce coin is masterfully crafted in 99.99% pure silver with elegant selective gold plating, and features a mintage of 10,000. This limited-edition work of art is the perfect gift for anyone with an interest in First Nations spirituality, or functions as a distinguished addition to any collection of silver coins. Sixth of seven coins in this exciting new series celebrating the Seven Sacred Teachings of love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility and truth practiced by First Nations people across Canada. Its an outstanding collection of aboriginal wisdom and art. Canadian Metis artist Nathalie Bertin, has created a powerful design of the fundamental elements part of this teaching. A wolf and an abstract figure howling together in harmonious co-existence. In the background, a pattern of tobacco leaves reinforces the wolfs teaching of humility. Seven sacred teachings Knowledge is learned. But wisdom cannot be gained through blind eyes. One must watch and listen; find lessons in what is going on around them. The beaver teaches this lesson well as it observes its environment, using the sound and movement of water to determine where to build its dam and lodge. Then, with its sharp teeth and keen engineering skills, it builds its community. A forest cannot thrive without the unique gifts of all its residents; the wisdom that is passed from generation to generation. The beaver is one of seven animals featured in the Seven Sacred Teachings practiced by Aboriginal people throughout North America for living a full and happy life. The beaver’s lesson is wisdom; going beyond the mere acquisition of knowledge to carefully observe one’s environment and find lessons in life events. Experience is the foundation of wisdom, and the sharing of individual wisdom is the cornerstone of a strong community.
