2018 Canada Big Coin Series #1 Voyageur $1 5 OZ Pure Silver with Rose Gold Dollar

Pure Silver Coin with Rose Gold Plating – 2018 Big Coin Series: Voyageur Dollar – Mintage: 1,500 (2018). The Voyageur silver dollar represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of Canadian national identity. World War I and the Great Depression had changed perceptions about Canada’s colonial relationship with Great Britain, sovereignty, and global role. In 1931, the Royal Mint in Ottawa was transferred to the Canadian government, becoming the Royal Canadian Mint. The Voyageur was the new Mint’s first fully Canadian circulation coin design. Emanuel Hahn’s image of two men in a canoe changed the face of Canadian coin design thereafter. Following its release, Canadian circulation coinage adopted distinctly Canadian reverse images. An important addition for any collector interested in Canadian minting history! A GORGEOUS VOYAGEUR DOLLAR COIN DESIGN! Pure silver 1-dollar coin features the historic Voyageur design by famed Canadian sculptor Emanuel Hahn, first issued in 1935. SELECTIVE ROSE GOLD PLATING! Special selective rose gold plating technique allows your coin’s engraved elements to shine, adding visual interest to the iconic design! FIRST IN 7 COIN SERIES! The Voyageur coin is the first in our exciting 7-coin series of 5-ounce pure silver versions of current and historical Canadian circulation coinage! 5 OUNCE PURE SILVER! Your coin is crafted from five ounce 99.99% pure silver! Your coin has a diameter of 65.25 mm and a nominal metal weight of 157.6 grams! The ideal diameter and weight for such a beautiful design! Your coin includes a serialized certificate! Limited to 1,500 coins worldwide. Your coin is GST/HST exempt. Your 99.99% pure silver 1-Dollar coin has a diameter of 65 millimetres and a metal weight of 157.6 grams. Its reverse features Emanuel Hahn’s iconic Voyageur image, present on Canadian silver dollars from 1935 to 1986. A canoe carries a European voyageur paddling at the stern and a First Nations man paddling at the bow. Between them are bundles of wrapped furs. The bundle closest to the bow is marked with the initials “HB” for Hudson’s Bay Company. In the background, two wind-swept pines rise from the centre of a smooth, semi-circular island. Stylized vertical rays representing the northern lights cross the sky. On the reverse the engraved elements, including the canoe, travellers, and pines are gold-plated. The reverse is engraved with the words “CANADA” and “DOLLAR” and the date “2018″. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Her Majesty’s portrait is gold-plated. Though it was Canada’s first circulation 1-Dollar silver coin, the famed 1935 Voyageur was not Canada’s first silver dollar design. In 1910, a silver dollar design featuring a crown and a wreath of maple leaves was created by the Royal Mint; however, the death of King Edward VII on May 6 pushed back plans for the new coin. Hahn’s first proposed design for the silver dollar was an image of a caribou. Though rejected for the 1-Dollar denomination, it would eventually become the reverse image for the Canadian 25-Cent piece, and remains so today. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with graphic beauty box. 99.99% pure silver. Emanuel Hahn (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse). Artists Margaret Best (reverse), T. Beautifully diverse, Canada’s native maple trees inspire reverence wherever they’re found! Each species is typically identifiable by the shape of its foliageparticularly the deeply cut “V” sinuses that define the leaf of a silver maple. Stately and elegant, this fast-growing tree can grow up to 35 meters tall in moist soils, such as those that line the waterways of Eastern Canada. It’s aptly named for the leaf’s striking silvery-white underside, which seemingly shimmers on this exquisite gold coin! A more affordable gold coin to add to or start a gold coin collection! OUTSTANDING AMOUNT OF LIFELIKE DETAIL! The coin features an outstanding amount of lifelike detail on a smaller (13.92 mm) canvas. LOW MINTAGE: A maximum of only 8,000 coins will be made available worldwide! INCLUDES SERIALIZED CERTIFICATE: The Royal Canadian Mint certifies all of its collector coins. Most of these are serialized certifications, meaning that each certificate is given a unique number, starting at 1. 99.99% PURE GOLD! For our Canadian customers, this coin is GST/HST exempt! Designed by Canadian artist Margaret Best, the coin captures the lifelike beauty of an iconic Canadian maple by bringing together not one but two silver maple leaves. Both are depicted in a downward position, as they often appear naturally when attached to a branch. The view of the leaf’s upper surface (foreground, right) dominates the field; slightly curling at the tips, it bears the deeply veined pattern that produces an intricate, almost lace-like appearance. The crossover of the two stalks adds a sense of layering as the focus transitions to the second leaf (left), which presents its silvery underside. Where the veins are sunken on the first leaf, they are raised and prominent on the secondanother example of the characteristic differences between a leaf’s two sides, which are further enhanced by the use of matte and polish finishes that recreate the striking visual contrast between the two. Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell protected by a black beauty box. Unsearched All of the coins offered in this listing are unsearched. Many coin dealers search all coins when they are received from the Mint. They “cherry-pick” the best coins. Then submit them to be graded, certified, and slabbed by PCGS, NGC, ANACS, etc. When a dealer searches coins, those that they sell in original Mint packaging are only lesser quality coins. Photos: When a listing offers multiples of the same coin, one coin is picked at random and photographed. Since all coins offered in that listing are essentially identical, the coin photographed is representative of all coins offered. Surface areas that appear black on some proof coin photos are actually highly polished, mirror-bright metal reflecting the color of the camera. We often include proof coin photos with the coin slightly tilted to better depict the mirror bright surfaces. However, tilting the coin may resulting one side being slightly out of focus. Whenever possible, we use actual photos of our coins, rather than just stock artwork from the Mint. We frequently update and upgrade the photos that appear with our listings, using improved cameras and lenses and better lighting. We will honor your requests for additional photos as quickly as our schedule permits. The item “Canada 2017 The Silver Maple Leaf 1/25 oz. Canadas environment is central to the countrys cultural life; Canadians interaction with their environment has proved a potent source of creative inspiration for centuries. Arguably the most well-known representations of Orcas have been derived from their intimate place in the traditions and culture of west coast First Nations communities including the Haida, Tlingit, and Kwakwakawakw. Orcas, the largest members of the dolphin family, are among the cleverest mammals on earth; they hunt fish, seals, squid, turtles, birds, other whales, in pods of up to three dozen individuals. Orcas possess an ability shared with few other members of the animal kingdom: they can learn new things during their lifetimes and pass these teachings on to the next generation. Despite their power and intelligence, these creatures remain susceptible to encroachment on their habitat, pollution levels in the oceans, and even the consistent presence of sound, which disturb the Orcas ability to communicate. While the Orcas distinctive colour patterns, intelligence, sociability, playfulness, particularly its spectacular leaps, long ago established them as Canadian icons, their vulnerability to our actions should serve as a reminder of Canadians roles as the stewards of their surroundings. One in a series of four coins designed by Canadian Aboriginal artist Corrine Hunt- designer of the gold, silver, and bronze medals, produced by the Royal Canadian Mint, for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Other coins available in this series include the Wood Bison, Peregrine Falcon and the Boreal Forest. The reverse design by Corrine Hunt depicts a stylized orca executed with Hunts unique interpretation of traditional Kwakwakawakw and Tlingit forms. The breeching orcas powerful head, body, and dorsal and pectoral fins have escaped the swell of the sea, hurtling the mythical sea-king from sea to air – its two domains. In the body, an ovoid form represents the many generations, past and present, of the community in which the Orca thrives. 2011 Canadian 50-Cent Orca Whale 1/25 oz Pure Gold Coin comes encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case lined with flock, black beauty sleeve and Certificate of Authenticity.
