Just 7,500 of this unusual one ounce pure silver collector edition five cent beaver coin have been released as part of a new series that includes all of Canada’s regular coin denominations. The coin includes a “W” mint mark to highlight that the coin was struck at the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg, while most collector coins are struck at the Mint’s Ottawa location. The background field includes straight lines meeting on an angle in the centre inspired by the striking exterior of the Mint’s Winnipeg facility.
