LYNX In The Eyes Of The Glow In The Dark Silver Coin 15$ Canada 2017

This incredible Silver coin is the second release in the new In The Eyes Of The series featuring the remarkable eyes of some of Canadas wildlife species. In this edition the Lynx. The coin has a Glow-in-the-Dark effect, has an innovative enamel effect, and comes in a case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to 6.500 pieces worldwide. The reverse of the coin by Canadian artist Curtis Atwater presents the close-up portrait of a Lynx and features complex engraving that adds textural detail. Special emphasis is placed on the owls eyes, where an enamel effect mimics the glossy look of a traditional paint application, but with far more colour variances that give the amber-coloured irises a more life-like appearance. They are further enhanced by glow-in-the-dark technology that adds a luminous intensity to the piercing gaze, which mimics the naturally luminous effect of the nocturnal hunters stare during a rare nighttime encounter. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: CANADA the issue country, 2017 the year of issue, D·G·REGINA Dei Gratia Regina, 15 DOLLARS the face value and ELIZABETH II the name of the Queen. Lynx A lynx is any of the four species within the Lynx genus of medium-sized wild cats, which includes the bobcat. The name lynx originated in Middle English via Latin from the Greek word derived from the Indo-European root leuk in reference to the luminescence of its reflective eyes. Neither the caracal, sometimes called the desert lynx, nor the jungle cat, called the jungle lynx, is a member of the Lynx genus. Lynx have a short tail, characteristic tufts of black hair on the tips of their ears, large, padded paws for walking on snow and long whiskers on the face. Under their neck, they have a ruff which has black bars resembling a bow tie although this is often not visible. Body colour varies from medium brown to goldish to beige-white, and is occasionally marked with dark brown spots, especially on the limbs. All species of lynx have white fur on their chests, bellies and on the insides of their legs, fur which is an extension of the chest and belly fur. The lynx’s colouring, fur length and paw size vary according to the climate in their range. In the Southwestern United States, they are short-haired, dark in colour and their paws are smaller and less padded. As climates get colder and more northerly, lynx have progressively thicker fur, lighter colour, and their paws are larger and more padded to adapt to the snow. Their paws may be larger than a human hand or foot. The smallest species are the bobcat and the Canada lynx, while the largest is the Eurasian lynx, with considerable variations within species. 1918-2018 Lest We Forget $25 Pure Silver Helmet-Shaped Coin 100th Armistice WW1

In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the guns finally fell silent across the Western Front. A century later, the Royal Canadian Mint commemorates the anniversary of the Armistice with its most unusual coin yet: a poignant symbol of remembrance shaped like the steel helmets worn by Canadian combatants in the First World War. Resembling the 1916 Mark I model worn by Canadian combatants, the combat helmet-shaped coin is the result of a careful collaboration between Royal Canadian Mint engravers and engineers. The coins unprecedented, extreme curvature allows for a realistic re-creation (on a much smaller scale) of the bowl-shaped headgear issued to Canadian troops and all British Empire forces in 1916. The reverse provides a view of the top of the now-iconic steel helmet, whose battle-worn appearance is the result of engraved cracks and markings beneath the antique finish that gives it all a distressed look. Along the brim that helped protect soldiers from airborne debris, the heartfelt assurance LEST WE FORGET NOUBLIONS JAMAIS is flanked by engraved poppies, while the double dates 1918 and 2018 mark the centennial of Armistice. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt engraved deep in the recessed circular crown, while the legend and face value are engraved on the brim. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armistice and the end of the First World War, a symbol of soldiering becomes the ultimate representation of bravery. 99.99% pure silver.
