Canada 1917 2017 Half Dollar 50 Cents 2 Oz Silver Proof. Royal Canadian Mint Masters Club Exclusive. The obverse presents a meticulously engraved recreation of the crossed maple boughs original designed by L. Wyon and later modified by W. Blakemore, which appeared on Canadas 50-cent coins before 1937. The boughs of 22 leaves and St. Edwards Crown (the solid gold coronation crown) are all beautifully enhanced by the selective application of gold plating, which adds a sumptuous golden hue that stands out against the deeply mirrored background. Continues on the reverse, which features the effigy of King George V by Sir E. A frosted cameo portrait of His Majesty. In profile facing left. This portrait was executed by the artist, sculptor and designer Sir E. The legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND: IMP: (George V, King and Emperor of India by the Grace of God) replicates the design of the original coinage of the era. The coin is encapsulated and presented inside a luxurious, Royal Canadian Mint-branded solid wood box, lined with black velvet and including a removable insert and special certificate compartment, protected by a full color outer box. An individually-numbered certificate of authenticity is included. Pure silver 99.999%. Weight 62,69g – 2 oz. Finish Proof with 24 karat Gold Plating.
