This coin is presented in a leather display case and was offered by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) along with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The coin & case have never been displayed as it has always been housed in the original black RCM outer box and stored in a climate controlled environment. 9999 fine silver and features a unique design that pays tribute to the Maple Leaf’s legacy. This coin was limited to a small mintage of just 6,500 coins and has become more collectible as each year goes by. The reverse features Walter Ott’s iconic maple leaf design from the original Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin released in 1988. The coin showcases a stunning depiction of a single maple leaf surrounded by radial lines, symbolizing the utmost security and authenticity of the coin. This coin would make a prized addition to any collection or investment portfolio. This very special numismatic release also includes a Royal Canadian Mint first: incuse-struck images on both sides of the coin. The realistic sugar maple leaf is incuse-struck into the surface of the coin. The reverse features the words “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1OZ ARGENT PUR” as well as the purity standard of “9999″. Her Majesty’s image on the obverse is also incuse-struck. The obverse features the date “2018″ and the face value of 20 DOLLARS. The coin also bears commemorative edge lettering with the number “30″ flanked on both sides by a maple leaf. This coin commemorates the 30th year of the Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin’s production. The rich diversity of life in the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans are an important part of Canada’s maritime heritage. Designed by Canadian artist Tony Bianco, the reverse image peers into the waters off Canada’s northern coast for a glimpse of an iconic marine species. The engraved word “Canada” hangs above a rugged mountain peak, which rises up from the snow and ice-covered shores of the Arctic Ocean. Sweeping over the increasingly shallow water, the breaking swell adds a sense of movement to the design; the motion of the water’s surface also marks a dynamic transition to the underwater realm, where detailed engraving recreates the rock-lined ocean floor. The selective use of gold plating shines the spotlight on three engraved whales: an adult beluga on the left is shown in side profile as it curiously lifts its head above the water, and another lifts its flukes above water while releasing a stream of underwater bubbles from its blowhole, while its curved descent is mimicked by the calf at its side.
