This first ever ultra-high relief Silver Maple Leaf coin presents a unique elevated take on the Royal Canadian Mint’s classic design. The coin is struck with a reverse proof finish (frosted field, brilliant relief) on an innovative new coin blank that allows for a relief height reaching 1.4 mm. By adding more height and dimension, the inspiring maple leaf also represents our spirit of innovation and our ability to broaden our horizons by building on a tradition of excellence. The new dimensional rendering of the maple leaf was sculpted by retired Senior Engraver Susan Taylor, who previously worked under the tutelage of the late Walter Ott, creator of the world-famous leaf design. The reverse includes the engraved words “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”, and the purity standard of “9999″. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Mintage is 7,000 coins.
