2021 Canada UFO Coin Canada’s Unexplained Phenomena – The Montréal Incident. Relive a famous UFO sighting in downtown. Dubbed the “Montréal Incident, ” this famous UFO sighting has been re-created on our fourth Unexplained Phenomena coin. Its colourful, glow-in-the-dark design transports you to the rooftop pool at the Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal on the night of November 7, 1990, when a mysterious object suddenly appeared in the sky. On the coin, the UFO’s light beams are enhanced with black light paint technology, which is activated by the flashlight that comes with your coin. We’ve even engineered a Fresnel optical effect that alters that way light reflects on the coin, depending on your viewing angle-tilt the coin and you’ll see! The incident depicted on your coin isn’t the only time a UFO was spotted in Montréal-according to the annual Canadian UFO survey, it’s one of the Canadian cities with the most reported sightings each year. November 7, 1990, 7:20 p. A tourist was enjoying a relaxing swim in the rooftop pool of the Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal, when suddenly, green and yellow light beams emanating from a large, metallic object lit up the night sky. The woman alerted the lifeguard, who called the hotel’s security guard; soon, guests, hotel staff and management had gathered to view this anomalous aerial object, which continued to hover in place. When the light beams suddenly became brighter, police were called in. Baffled, the first officer on the scene contacted his superiors, and before long, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian military and even NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) were reportedly looking into this strange object. Sometime after 10 p. Dense cloud cover obscured the view of the UFO, but photographs taken by a journalist provide compelling physical evidence of this unexplained phenomenon. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box. Composition 99.99% pure silver with selective colour, Fresnel engraving and black light paint technology. Weight (g) 31.56. Diameter (mm) 49.8 x 28.6. Face value 20 dollars. Enhanced with black light-activated technology, our THIRD Unexplained Phenomena coin is a colourfulretelling of a famous Canadian UFO event. The 1978 Clarenville Incident is a compelling account that can’t be easily dismissed since it involved several witnesses, including an RCMP officer who described a strange sight that has never been satisfactorily explained. October 26, 1978, 1:45 a. Responding to a call, RCMP Constable James Blackwood arrived at the scene in Clarenville, N. Where witnesses directed his attention to a brightly lit object in the sky. Using binoculars and a high-powered scope, they observed the fin-tailed, oval-shaped craft as it hovered above the water near Random Island. It emitted no sound; and when the officer flashed the lightbar on his police cruiser, the mysterious craft instantly mimicked the lights. It remained in the area for nearly an hour before rising up suddenly and vanishing into the night, leaving no trace of its passage except a credible eyewitness account. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND. Fine silver rectangular coin gives you a front row seat to a famous Canadian UFO event: the 1978 incident at Clarenville, N. THIRD COIN IN THE SERIES. From unusual sightings to strange encounters, this series brings you some of Canada’s most fascinating tales of unexplained phenomena. For our third UFO tale, the coin features a landscape orientation that allows for a sweeping waterfront view, and an expressive art style that gives it a distinct Newfoundland vibe. Use the black light flashlight (included) to activate the coin’s glow-in-the-dark features, and you’ll see the bright lights described by the witnesses. LOW MINTAGE, HIGH DEMAND. Mintage is limited to just 5,000 coins worldwide and it will likely be a sought-after piece. So hurry, order yours today! The reverse design by Adam Young is an artistic representation of a 1978 UFO event that took place in Clarenville, N. Rendered in a colourful and expressive art style, the landscape-oriented image shows the event from the perspective of the witnesses, including the RCMP officer whose police cruiser appears in the bottom right corner. The oval-shaped craft is seen hovering over Random Sound on a clear night. Black light-activated technology adds a bright glow to the mysterious object and its illuminated reflection on the water. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. I wanted this piece to include all the elements of the 1978 experience while also incorporating the rugged yet whimsical coastline so often found in the Newfoundland landscape. Light and line direction were also important aspects of the design, creating a circular visual flow throughout the composition. This has been an exciting artistic endeavor, which, throughout my research for the design, has caused me to tumble down the rabbit hole of other Canadian UFO sightings. When I arrived at the wharf, people were milling about and looking up at the sky in disbelief. What struck me the most was the size and brightness of the object, and the lack of noise everything was so quiet. Expert: James Blackwood, Eyewitness: The Expert. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box. 99.99% Pure Silver. 49.8mm X 28.6mm. Adam Young (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse). The three-cent stamp was printed using the traditional intaglio printing or line engraving method, as evidenced by the horizontal lines re-created on the reverse. An application of modern colour mimics the brown carmine hue of the original issue, while the double dates “1867″ and “1927″ and the word “CONFEDERATION” reflect the 60th anniversary of Confederation. Like the 1927 stamp, the reverse includes ornamental flourishes and the word “CANADA” on a scroll banner, along with the bilingual “POSTES / POST” and the face value, represented by the number “3″ and the word “CENTS”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Designed by Sir Sandford Fleming in 1851, the Three-Pence Beaver is Canada’s first stamp and one of the world’s earliest. The first perforated stamp was issued in 1858. The rows of holes or “teeth” made it easier to separate individual stamps from a sheet, which were previously hand cut by postal clerks. Herman Herbert Schwartz designed many Canadian stamps issued between 1927 and 1954, including a collector favourite: the. Schwartz also designed one of the first Canadian stamps to feature Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, issued in 1953. Prior to 1967, many of Canada’s stamps were the product of an. Like a coin, each design was engraved to scale (in reverse) on a master die, followed by a test run of trial prints known as die proofs. ” Once approved, the die was hardened and copied to a “transfer roll, which impressed hundreds of copies of the design onto a metal plate that would print the sheets of stamps. A total of three plates of 200 stamps each were used to print the stamp re-created on the reverse.
