Since its introduction in 1988, the iconic Royal Canadian Mint Silver Maple Leaf (SML) has been a highly sought-after bullion investment coin. All 2024 SML bullion coins include enhanced security features: radial lines, a micro-engraved maple leaf and BULLION DNAT Anti-Counterfeiting Technology. They also include MINTSHIELDT surface protection: the world’s first proven approach to reducing the occurrence of white spots discolorations on silver bullion coins. After years of intensive research and development, the Royal Canadian Mint developed MINTSHIELDT, a unique manufacturing process breakthrough that reduces the appearance of white spots on Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins. Invisible to the eye and having no effect on the coins’ purity or composition, MINTSHIELDT reduces the appearance of white spots for years. BULLION DNAT Anti-Counterfeiting Technology is an industry first that goes above and beyond other approaches to coin authentication. Every die used to produce SML coins is laser micro-engraved with an anti-counterfeiting security mark. Our registration process-digital non-destructive activation (DNA) technology-captures images encrypted with an algorithm signature and then stores these in our secure database. This proprietary Bullion DNAT technology facilitates the authentication of Silver Maple Leaf coins dated 2015 and later. SML bullion coins also feature a textured maple leaf, micro-engraved with laser technology on a small area of the reverse side of the coin. In the centre of this mark, visible under magnification, is the numeral “24″ denoting the coin’s year of issue. The radial lines on 2024 Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins are machined precisely to within microns on the master tooling for maximum reproducibility from die to die and coin to coin. The line width and pitch give Silver Maple Leaf coins a characteristic look and create a distinctive, light-diffracting pattern that is specific to this coin. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati. Three unique features for cutting-edge security, including precise radial lines, a micro-engraved leaf and Bullion DNAT Anti-Counterfeiting Technology, exclusive to the Royal Canadian Mint. Bullion DNAT technology facilitates the authentication of Silver Maple Leaf coins dated 2015 and later. An attractive acquisition for both first-time precious metal buyers and long-term investors. Precision-cut radial lines create a unique light-diffracting pattern specific to this coin. Packaging and Presentation The 2024 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins are securely packaged in mint-issued tubes, each holding 25 coins. This robust packaging protects the coins from physical damage and environmental factors, such as tarnishing, preserving their visual and intrinsic value. Compact and durable, the tubes are ideal for convenient storage and transportation, catering to both individual investors and those managing extensive precious metal portfolios.
From spring’s bright hues and sun-soaked summer greenery to fall’s foliage-led color change and winter’s snowy slumber, all four seasons unfold before your eyes, forming a spectrum of colors within the maple leaf that gives shape to our celebration of Canada’s natural beauty. The design is a composite of landscape features from across Canada, framed by the outline of a black maple leaf and backed by Canada geese flying in a V formation-a sign of the changing seasons in Canada. The four-season view begins with a spring scene on the left, where a tundra swan swims past flowery meadows and mountains under a colorful morning sky. The scene transitions to a bright summer day, as a grizzly bear catches its next meal. Beneath the migrating geese in the sky, the green foliage turns to red, orange, brown and yellow in the fall view, in which the setting sun casts its glow on the grasslands and the iconic bison. The final view, with its sleepy Arctic fox, captures the tranquil beauty of winter in Canada, while an iceberg adrift in the ocean hints at the eventual return of spring. Struck in just over 3 ounces of fines silver, the coin has a mintage limited to just 2,500 coins. First coin design, the Atlantic Salmon: Designed by Canadian artist Curtis Atwater, your coin features the Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) during its upstream journey to spawning grounds in one of the many rivers flowing through the boreal forests of Eastern Canada. In the skilfully engraved background, several migrating salmon can be seen leaping out of the fast-moving waters to ascend the rocky waterfall. Selective colour superbly highlights the salmon in the foreground, whose tail is curled up as it angles forward with great energy. Re-adapting to freshwater conditions, the mature salmon’s glistening appearance has altered from the silver of its saltwater existence to a bronze-green hue with black and reddish spots. The entirety of the design conveys a high sense of energy in this pristine outdoor setting, as water splashes out from these “jumping” fish onto the band that frames the reverse, where the word “CANADA”, the year “2016″, and the face value “20 DOLLARS” are also engraved.
