Each piece is unique thanks to the exceptional attention to engraved details. Stunning Snowflakes Design by Don Komarechka. The obverse design is the same on that appears on nearly every other issue of the Royal Canadian Mint, Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Blunt shows the monarch smiling conservatively and wearing earrings and a necklace but no crown or tiara. Rim inscriptions together offer her name and title, ELIZABETH II D. REGINA (Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen). Don Komarechka’s reverse features intricately engraved snowflakes that put one of winter’s most beautiful wonders right in the holder’s hand. Blue sparkle enamel highlights the differences of the three largest snow crystals, and that enamel is beautifully enhanced by the coin’s proof finish. Additional snowflakes fill the rest of this face. The name of the issuing country, “CANADA” and the date, “2018, ” are inscribed at the top, while the face value of the coin, “20 DOLLARS, ” is inscribed at the bottom. Queen Elizabeth II Portrait.
