The portrait, created by Canadian artist Bonnie Ross, depicts Elizabeth II at the age of her sapphire jubilee. The design echoes the style of The Queen’s effigies that have appeared on coins-the face as the central element, shown from the neck up, facing right. The Queen is portrayed with a three-quarter view instead of the traditional side profile, and is flanked by two rows of maple leaves, alluding to her connection to Canada. Her gentle smile reveals the wisdom and experience that are uniquely hers as the longest reigning monarch in Canadian history. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has reigned for more than 65 years, surpassing her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria who reigned for 63 years, seven months and two days. She is also the first British monarch to reach the historic milestone of a sapphire jubilee, celebrated on February 6, 2017-the 65th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. The Queen’s reign has been characterized by numerous firsts. Her coronation was the first to be televised. She has travelled more than any other monarch, and figured in many historic overseas visits. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has arguably been the most visible monarch in history, and the most recognized and respected matriarch worldwide. Repoussé is an ancient metalworking technique in which the metal is pushed forward to create shapes, contours and sculpture that appear on the reverse side. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box. This item is in the category “Coins & Paper Money\Coins: Canada\Commemorative”. Canada 2021 $20 HRM Queen Elizabeth II’s Lover’s Knot Tiara Fine Silver Coin

Canada 2021 $20 HRM Queen Elizabeth II's Lover's Knot Tiara Fine Silver Coin

Its diamond-adorned arches and suspended pearls inspired the rhodium-plated designs for the 2021 tiara coin, which double as a jewellery-themed celebration of the year of Her Majestys 95th birthday. Commissioned by Queen Mary in 1913 from the House of Garrard, the Lover’s Knot Tiara (also known as Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara) was passed down to her granddaughter, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Originally the Lover’s Knot Tiara contained upright pearls above 19 diamond arches; pearls of which were taken from the Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara (also a favourite of Her Majesty). However, Queen Mary later had these pearls removed from the Lover’s Knot Tiara. This regal tiara was loaned other members of the Royal Family such as Diana, Princess of Wales, and Catherine, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge. The reverse of 2021 coin features an interpretation of the current Lover’s Knot Tiara. Swarovski® crystals add a diamond-like sparkle to the rhodium-plated motif, while three mother-of-pearl pieces stand in for the tiaras suspended pearls. The arrangement is framed by engraved elements resembling the tiaras headband. The commemorative obverse features scroll flourishes and the four effigies of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that have appeared on Canadian coins since 1953. This 38mm fine silver coin is a tiara-themed tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the year of her 95th birthday. Swarovski crystals: The Lovers Knot Tiara inspired the coins reverse, where the rhodium-plated design is adorned with Swarovski® crystals that add a regal sparkle. Mother of Pearl! The Royal Canadian Mint’s interpretation on this famous tiara wouldnt be complete without one of its distinguishing features, its pearls, which are re-created with mother of pearl. The commemorative obverse features scroll flourishes and the four effigies of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that have appeared on Canadian coins since 1953. The Lover’s Knot Tiara This famous tiara is also known as Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara, for it was Queen Mary who commissioned it from the House of Garrard in 1913. Modelled after the original Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara worn by her grandmother and aunt, Queen Mary’s version of the tiara is made from diamonds and pearls that once adorned the Ladies of England Tiara. The regal headpiece was passed down to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953; it was later loaned to Diana, Princess of Wales, and has been frequently worn by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. Her Majesty has two birthdays! She was born on April 21, 1926, but in the United Kingdom, the monarch’s birthday has always been publicly celebrated on the second Saturday in June. The Lover’s Knot Tiara originally included upright pearls on top of the 19 diamond arches. The pearls were taken from the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, one of Her Majesty’s favourite tiaras, but Queen Mary later had them removed from the Lover’s Knot Tiara too. Canada is a country, consisting of ten provinces and t hree territories, in the northern part of the continent of North America. It extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles) in total, making it the world’s second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada’s common border with the United States forms the world’s longest land border. Canada is sparsely populated overall, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra as well as the mountain range of the Rocky Mountains; about four-fifths of the population live near to the southern border. The majority of Canada has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer. The land now called Canada has been inhabited for millennia by various Aboriginal peoples. Beginning in the late 15th century, British and French colonies were established on the region’s Atlantic coast. As a consequence of various conflicts, the United Kingdom gained and lost North American territories until left, in the late 18th century, with what mostly comprises Canada today. Pursuant to the British North America Act, on July 1, 1867, three colonies joined to form the autonomous federal Dominion of Canada. This began an accretion of provinces and territories to the new self-governing Dominion. In 1931, Britain granted Canada near total independence with the Statute of Westminster 1931 and full sovereignty was attained when the Canada Act 1982 severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament. Canada is a federal parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, Queen Elizabeth II being the current head of state. The country is officially bilingual at the federal level. It is one of the world’s most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries, with a population of approximately 35 million as of 2015. Its advanced economy is the eleventh largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks. Canada’s long and complex relationship with the United States has had a significant impact on its economy and culture. Canada is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the tenth highest nominal per capita income globally, and the eighth highest ranking in the Human Development Index. It ranks among the highest in international measurements of government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life, economic freedom, and education. Canada is a Commonwealth Realm member of the Commonwealth of Nations, a member of the Francophonie, and part of several major international and intergovernmental institutions or groupings including the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the G8, the Group of Ten, the G20, the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.
