The coin is struck with a reverse proof finish (frosted field, brilliant relief) on an innovative new coin blank that allows for a relief height reaching 1.4 mm. The leaf design is further enhanced by a layer of 24 karat gold plating, which is also framed by a ring of gold around the rim. By adding dimension and a gleam of gold, the inspiring maple leaf also represents our spirit of innovation and our ability to broaden our horizons by building on a tradition of excellence. The dimensional rendering of the maple leaf was sculpted by retired Senior Engraver Susan Taylor, who previously worked under the tutelage of the late Walter Ott, creator of the world-famous leaf design. The obverse features a gold enhanced posthumous effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt together with the years of her reign from 1952 to 2022. Mintage is limited to just 8,000 coins.
Includes outer cardboard box, clamshell protective box, and COA (OGP). Susan Taylor hand signed signature. Please refer to the photos for additional details.
