Pure Silver Proof Coin with Swarovski Crystal Element. All coins offered in this listing are unsearched! (see Additional Information below). All of our Canadian coins are acquired directly from the Royal Canadian Mint – The counterfeiting of numismatic coins, and the sale of stolen coins, are serious problems for coin collectors and dealers. Unlike many other coin dealers. To protect against these risks, we do not sell’second-hand’ coins. All of our Canadian coins are stored in a climate controlled, smoke-free vault. Composition – fine silver (99.99% pure). Weight (g) -31.39 1 troy oz. Diameter (mm) – 38. Certificate serialized (serial numbers will vary). Face value – 20 dollars (a legal tender Canadian coin). Artists – Konrad Wachelko (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse). The beauty of a snowflake enchants every heart, in cold climes and warm, and speaks to the wondrous artistry of nature. A beautiful gift to mark the holidays or any special occasion! This coin is the eighth in the popular fine silver, Swarovski element-studded Crystal Snowflake coin series. Each coin captures the elusive beauty of one of nature’s most stunning winter phenomena, freezing it in time for collectors to enjoy all year round. This coin is an excellent addition to any fine silver, winter-themed, crystal-embedded, or holiday-themed collection. Struck in premium proof finish with a mirrored background, the coin displays exquisite craftsmanship by capturing every detail of this stunning design. A discerning gift to mark the holidays or any special occasion. Each coin is rendered in fine silver (99.99% pure). Designed by Royal Canadian Mint engraver Konrad Wachelko, this coin features a single large snowflake, its six delicate arms engraved in exceptional detail, surrounded by a flurry of smaller snowflakes and stylized round snow crystals. The heart of the large central snowflake is embedded with a black snowflake-shaped Swarovski crystal element. Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell case lined with a black flock and protected by a black sleeve. Are also available for an additional charge. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Photos: When a listing offers multiples of the same coin, one coin is picked at random and photographed. Since all coins offered in that listing are essentially identical, the coin photographed is representative of all coins offered. Surface areas that appear black on some proof coin photos are actually highly polished, mirror-bright metal reflecting the color of the camera. We often include proof coin photos with the coin slightly tilted to better depict the mirror bright surfaces. However, tilting the coin may result in one side being slightly out of focus. Please review all of the photos provided to obtain the best understanding of the coin’s actual appearance. Whenever possible, we use actual photos of our coins, rather than just stock artwork from the Mint. We frequently update and upgrade the photos that appear with our listings, using improved cameras and lenses and better lighting. We will honor your requests for additional photos as quickly as our schedule permits. So our costs for Canadian coins also vary from day to day. Unsearched All of the coins offered in this listing are unsearched. Many coin dealers search all coins when they are received from the Mint. They “cherry-pick” the best coins. Then submit them to be graded, certified, and slabbed by PCGS, NGC, ANACS, etc. When a dealer searches coins, those that they sell in original Mint packaging are only lesser quality coins. Canada 2007 Silver Sterling Proof Coin. Anyone who has ever had the good fortune to catch a snowflake on their glove knows that its intricate shape can take your breath away. As water vapour freezes within a cloud, temperature, wind and humidity will influence the size and shape of the ice crystals that fall to the ground. Sometimes they will clump together to form large, wet flakes. Or, they’ll fall as dry, powdery snow. But if the conditions are just right and the ice crystals can grow large and drift gently earthward without clumping together, the result is a flurry of endless masterpieces – those elaborate star-shaped flakes. The unassuming snowflake yields significant influence wherever it falls. It defines Canada’s geography, wildlife, environment and economy, demanding significant research efforts to understand how snow and ice work – and how to function within the challenging conditions they create. With so much of its activity dependent upon and shaped by winter’s frozen marvels, Canada has become known internationally for its scientific contributions to snow and ice research, such as the world’s most accurate gauge for recording snowfall and automated sensors that measure snow accumulation and melt on major glaciers and ice sheets. Yet, despite the science, Canada’s love of the simple snowflake prevails. Royal Canadian Mint Engraver Konrad Wachelko has recreated a six-sided dendrite ice crystal, often referred to by many as a snowflake. Made with Crystallized – Swarovski Elements overlaying the’snowflake’ with six aquamarine crystals and one central clear crystal. Specifications: Face Value: 20 dollars Mintage per coin: 5,000 Blue Crystal Total Mintage: 5,000 (NUMBER 910) Composition: 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper Weight (g): 50.10 Diameter (mm): 38 Edge: Serrated Finish: Proof Special Features: A first at the mint!
