Extraordinarily-High Relief Pure Silver Coin. Extraordinarily-high relief (EHR) goes beyond what high and even ultra-high relief techniques can accomplish and elevates the subject matter to around 6 mm. The striking visual effect of each coin in your series that becomes more of a sculpture than a simple embossing is given an exceptional brilliance with innovative proof finish, making the silver shine like never before. Each coin features a multifaceted design built out of 435 polygons on the first coin, 498 on the second, and 450 on the third, that are crafted in proof finish to make each coin sparkle like a diamond. INNOVATIVE WORLD FIRST COINING TECHNOLOGY! Each coin features an ingenious approach to coin design. These are the first proof-quality coin struck with EHR a new term in the world of minting. EHR is defined by an impressive relief that reaches to around 6 millimeters on a coin of only 36 millimeters in diameter and 1 oz. Ultra-High Relief coins barely reach 2 mm of height and standard relief coins remain almost flat in comparison. Each coin’s multiple facets, composed of 435 polygons (on the first coin) to be exact, are crafted in proof finish to reflect light from various angles. The result is that each coin sparkles like a diamond. The highest quality proof finish combined with the EHR technique gives it an unequaled brilliance and sharpness, making it a world first coin of its kind. A lightly frosted background accentuates the sparkle of the central main design, giving its already dazzling subject even more emphasis. On the obverse, multiple light-relief facets provide similar luminous, reflective effect. The exceptional three-dimensionality of EHR allows each animal head to elevate mere embossing to a sculpture of each animal head. The relief is so extreme and pronounced that the modeling and tooling work had to be approached in an unorthodox manner. The engravers had to adapt their normal coin modeling procedures, CNC machining strategies and tool polishing methods to accommodate such an extreme relief. Unlike any other, each multifaceted animal head feels alive. The innovative EHR technology transforms the imprint into an actual model. AN ODE TO NATURE! Canada is known for its vast and abundant nature, often protected and well preserved. The wilderness enveloping most of our land has continuously shaped our country, our history, and our culture. The multifaceted Wolf Head highlights the connection between civilization and nature. The Royal Canadian Mint certifies all of its collector coins. Each coin limited to 2,500 coins worldwide. Each coin is crafted from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The reverse sculpture by Claude Thivierge features a multifaceted wolf head built out of 435 polygons. The three-dimensional form protrudes from the flat coin, invoking both nature and geometry in its execution. The EHR plays an integral part of the design, introducing the coin as the first of its kind in the world – sharp, brilliant and doing away with the conventional flatness of minting. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box. 99.99 % pure silver. Claude Thivierge (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse). 2017 3 4 Oz Canadian Silver Wolf Moon Coins From Jm Bullion

2012′Full Wolf Moon’ $5 Sterling Silver and Niobium Coin (12984)

2012'Full Wolf Moon' $5 Sterling Silver and Niobium Coin (12984)

Calendar in the sky. We look to the sky to see if rain is coming, but there was a time when people gleaned far more information from gazing upward¡ªparticularly at night. Throughout history, cultures around the world have recognized the moon as the guardian of nature¡¯s cycles. Its perpetual waxing and waning, ¨Ddying¡¬ and reappearing, marked the passage of time¡ªnot clock time, but the rhythms of life; the ebb and flow of the sea; the birth, maturation and migration of animals; the sprouting of new plants and the scattering of seeds. In North America, the First Nations tribes that comprise the Algonquin people used the lunar cycle as a celestial calendar to track time. They assigned a name to every full moon to reflect the seasonal activities that accompanied its specific cycle. The Algonquin people lived across a vast territory from Lake Superior to the Atlantic¡ªand the geographical difference between them produced a variety of names for each full moon. January is the quintessential months of snow and ice. Its full moon is known as Snow Moon or Old Moon, but the most common name is Wolf Moon to reflect the fact that wolves are often heard howling outside First Nations villages, the sound amplified by the crisp, open air¡ªa beautiful song of longing inspired by the ever-changing cycle of life. Third coin in an exciting new Niobium series featuring the Full Moons of the Algonquin, to be followed by the Full Pink Moon. Low mintage coin features a niobium metal insert with unique coloring that reflects the theme of the coin. Distinct and innovative minting process: Niobium insert is struck into the core of a sterling silver coin and then selectively colored through a unique oxidization process made possible by the special properties of this metal. Unique Maple wooden flip case houses each coin or the full series. Face Value: 5 dollars. Mintage: 7,500. Composition: Outer ring: Sterling Silver ; Core: Sterling Silver (obverse) , Niobium (reverse). Weight (g): 8.5. Diameter (mm): 28. Edge: Interrupted Serrations. Artist: John Mantha. Add this 2018 1 oz Silver Predator Series Wolf Mini Monster box to your cart today! The wolf is one of the world’s most notorious animals, both loved and (wrongly) feared. Because of its high intelligence, adaptability and great skill in hunting, it has historically lived in every type of surroundings in the northern hemisphere except for the desert. Around 50,000 wolves inhabit Canada, the second largest population in the world after the former Soviet Union. Today Canadian wolves occupy about 85 percent of their original range, and although some local wolf populations are fluctuating, the overall number is pretty stable. Wolves range in color from black to creamy white in the far north. White hair contains more air pockets than pigmented hair and provides better insulation as well as camouflage against the snow. They are social animals, gathering in packs of up to 20 members. You will hear wolves on many outdoor adventures, particularly in the Algonquin Park, Ontario, where wolf howling is organized. Wolves are now permanently protected, not just inside the Algonquin Parks, but throughout the surrounding townships. DESCRIPTION The wolf (Canis lupus), [a] also known as the grey/gray wolf or timber wolf, is a caninenative to the wilderness and remote areas of Eurasia and North America. It is the largest extant member of its family, with males averaging 4345 kg (9599 lb) and females 3638.5 kg (7985 lb). [6] It is distinguished from other Canis species by its larger size and less pointed features, particularly on the ears and muzzle. Its winter fur is long and bushy and predominantly a mottled gray in color, although nearly pure white, red, and brown to black also occur. Mammal Species of the World 3rd ed. 2005, a standard reference work in zoology, recognises 38 subspecies of C. The gray wolf is the second most specializedmember of the genus Canis, after the Ethiopian wolf, as demonstrated by its morphologicaladaptations to hunting large prey, its more gregarious nature, and its highly advanced expressive behavior. It is nonetheless closely related enough to smaller Canis species, such as the coyote, and golden jackal, to produce fertile hybrids. It is the only species of Canis to have a range encompassing both the Old and New Worlds, and originated in Eurasia during the Pleistocene, colonizing North America on at least three separate occasions during the Rancholabrean. It is a social animal, travelling in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by the pair’s adult offspring. The gray wolf is typically an apex predator throughout its range, with only humansand tigers posing a serious threat to it. It feeds primarily on large ungulates, though it also eats smaller animals, livestock, carrion, and garbage. A seven-year-old wolf is considered to be relatively old, and the maximum lifespan is about 16 years. The global gray wolf population is estimated to be 300,000. The gray wolf is one of the world’s best-known and most-researched animals, with probably more books written about it than any other wildlife species. It has a long history of association with humans, having been despised and hunted in most pastoral communities because of its attacks on livestock, while conversely being respected in some agrarian and hunter-gatherer societies. Although the fear of wolves is pervasive in many human societies, the majority of recorded attacks on people have been attributed to animals suffering from rabies. Non-rabid wolves have attacked and killed people, mainly children, but this is rare, as wolves are relatively few, live away from people, and have developed a fear of humans from hunters and shepherds. 999 Diameter: 38.6 mm Weight: 1 oz – 31.1g Finish: COLOR AND SILVER Certificate COA: Yes Box: Yes.
