The largest of all land animals in North America, the bison is a symbol of strength and an important part of the history of the Prairie region of Canada. Mintage is limited to just 7,500 coins worldwide. The coin features a family grouping of three plains bison resting upon a grassy landscape on an early summer day. Above the resting bison the word “CANADA, ” the date “2014, ” and the face value of 20 DOLLARS. Edge lettering is also featured on this coin with the words “1 oz fine silver 1 oz argent pur” engraved in a repeating pattern.
