2022 Canada 1c Pure 5 oz. Silver Coin Farewell to the Penny 10th Anniversary
2022 Canada 1c Pure 5 oz. Silver Coin – Farewell to the Penny 10th Anniversary. A nostalgic look back! It was 10 years ago, in 2012, that the last Canadian penny was struck at our Winnipeg facility. Until that moment, the copper-plated cent was everywhere: it jingled in the pockets and purses of Canadians for generations filled countless coin jars and its maple leaf twig design was a part of our everyday lives. Now, a decade later, its iconic design has been given a new life and a modern twist on this 5 oz. Fine silver tribute, which has been enhanced with reverse gold plating to add a precious gleam. Gold plating fills the field, while the engraved relief consists of a multifaceted, geometric rendering of the iconic maple leaves and twig. The reverse also includes the face value “1 CENT”, the year “2022″ and the word “CANADA”. The obverse features a “P” composition mark indicating the gold plating, and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The last penny was struck in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 4, 2012. Since the Mint opened its doors in 1908, we’ve minted around 35 billion of one-cent circulation coins, but we’ve also recycled over six billion of them since 2013. Unlike the other denominations of Canadian circulation coinage, the one-cent coin’s design remained largely unchanged after the maple leaf twig made its debut in 1937. The only exception was in 1967, when a rock dove design by Alex Colville appeared on the penny to mark the 100th anniversary of Confederation. Specifications: Composition: 99.99% pure silver with reverse gold plating Mintage: 1,500 Weight: 157.6 g Diameter: 65.25 mm Face Value: 1 cent Finish: Proof Edge: Serrated Artist: Matt Conacher (reverse), Susanna Blunt (obverse) Special Features. Remembering the penny, 10 years later! Enjoy this nostalgic look back at Canada’s one-cent circulation coin, as we mark the 10th anniversary of the last penny struck at our Winnipeg facility. A modern interpretation! The penny’s iconic maple leaf twig design is back, but there’s a twist! The twig and twin maple leaves have been given a more contemporary appearance, with geometric angles that add more depth than ever, and engraved facets that catch and reflect the light. Reverse gold plating! This coin is crafted from 5 oz. Of 99.99% pure silver, which is only visible on the effigy and select design elements on the reverse. The rest of the coin is plated with beautiful yellow gold that outshines even the brightest copper penny. With its 65.25 mm diameter, this spectacular showpiece is more than three times the size of the original penny (19.05 mm). It weighs considerably more, too: 157.6 grams compared to the penny’s 2.35 grams. Only 1,500 are available to collectors worldwide. Packaging: Coin comes encapsulated and presented in a black Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box. Citadel Coins Halifax, Nova Scotia Official Royal Canadian Mint Distributor.

2014 Canada $30 Fine Silver Coin 75th Anniversary of the Declaration of WWII
75th Anniversary of the Declaration of WWII. A commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the declaration of the Second World War, and a heartfelt tribute to Canadians who bravely contributed to their country’s war effort. The stunning, life-like reverse design by Canadian artist Silvia Pecota presents a side-profile of a Canadian machine gun regiment during training. Seated on a rocky cliff that affords him a higher vantage point, the private at left steadies a tripod-mounted Vickers machine gun. Standing above him in the centre of the image field, a sergeant directs the private’s attention to a target in the distance. This beautifully detailed 30-dollar coin commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Second World War – a conflict that had an immediate and long-lasting impact on Canada and the world. An eye-catching coin rendered with the Royal Canadian Mint’s world-class artistry and the skilful melding of design and engraving. Mintage limited to 5,000 coins worldwide. A striking addition to any military or history-themed collection. Packaging: Maroon clamshell with graphic beauty box. THIS ITEM IS GST / HST EXEMPT. 2011 Canada $250 1 Kilo Pure Silver Coin 375th Anniversary of Lacrosse
375th Anniversary of Lacrosse. Upon noticing that the playing stick resembled a bishop’s croisier, he renamed the game la crosse. To the First Nations people, lacrosse was much more than play. Players took to the field with the highest ideals. Lacrosse was a training ground for young warriors and was a non-warring means to settle tribal disputes. Players were determined to bring honour and glory to their teammates and to their tribes. Matches could cover vast territories and last months at a time. In an effort to intimidate their opponents, players covered their faces with war paint; a ritual believed to be the inspiration behind the modern custom of painting hockey goalie masks. Coin comes encapsulated with black beauty box and black outer sleeve. Citadel Coins Halifax, Nova Scotia Official Royal Canadian Mint Distributor.
