Mintage: Only 100,000. Composition: 99.99% pure silver. Weight: 7.96 g. Celebrating Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) andits 350 years of history, which are beautifully embodied on this Voyageur dollar-inspired coin. Incorporated in 1670, Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) is Canada’s oldest company. Partnerships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis led to its success during the fur trade era. And as Canada began to take shape, HBCevolved along with it: its commercial pursuits werea crucial part of Canada’s earliest industries and development; its trading posts became Canada’s cities and towns; and its fur-trading empire evolved intothe modern retail giant of today. The reverse was inspired by the Voyageur dollar introducedin 1935 and designed by Emanuel Hahn. The engravedimage features six explorers paddling a canoe in rough waters after exchanging goods at the Hudson’s Bay Company trading post, which appears behind the pine trees in the distance. The reverse also includes the word “CANADA” near the curved rim, while the face value “5 DOLLARS” and the year “2020″ are inscribed below. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Signed by King Charles II on May 2, 1670, the Royal Charter is preserved at HBC’s corporate headquarters in Toronto. It granted exclusive trading rights to the Governor and Company of Adventurers of Englandtrading into Hudson Bay. Until 1970, the Royal Charter included a clause requiring HBC to pay the British Crown a periodic rent of two Elks and two Black beavers. The Rent Ceremony has only occurred four times since1670: in 1927, 1939, 1959 and 1970. If you look closely at a Voyageur dollar, you’ll spot the initials “HBC” on one of the bundles tucked inside the canoe. Your coin comes in a full-colour custom folder that will catch everyone’s attention.
More than 500 years after Italian explorer John Cabot first reached these shores, Canada is home to one of the largest Italian diasporas in the world, with over 1.5 million Canadians claiming Italian ancestry. This 99.99% pure silver coin features a circular arrangement of elements that form a symbolic representation of the Italian-Canadian community. Framed by repeating emblems representing two cultures coming together, the five-pointed Stella d’Italia is adorned with simulated Italian red coral and positioned at the centre, similar to how it appears in the emblem of the Italian Republic. The emblem also inspired the Renaissance-style pattern appearing on both the reverse and obverse, where olive branches represent peace and abundance, and oak leaves symbolize strength. June is Italian Heritage Month in Canada! It is an opportunity to honour the culture and history of Italian Canadians, and the contributions they have made to Canada and Canadian society. Italian red coral has been harvested and used for ornamentation since ancient times, and it continues to be an important industry in coastal regions of Italy-especially in Torre del Greco, a port town renowned for its coral workshops and artisans. As a sought-after jewellery material, red coral is traditionally believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck, and it is often used to craft amulets, such as the horn-shaped cornicello that protects against the evil eye. Some also believe it to have healing and high-energy qualities. Each hexagonal honeycomb cell serves as both a storehouse and a nest for larvae, and it isn’t just the honey bee that builds nests with hexagonal cells-wasps do it, too. The shape, which has inspired architects and engineers, provides several advantages, such as excellent strength-to-weight ratio, thermal insulation, space efficiency and structural stability, while minimizing the amount of building material (beeswax) required. The reverse design by Canadian artist Tony Bianco combines design elements drawn from Italian heritage to form a symbolic representation of the Italian-Canadian community. It centres on the five-pointed symbol of Italy, the Stella d’Italia, which is topped with simulated Italian red coral. Between the Roman columns emanating from the star points, a Renaissance-style pattern includes two elements inspired by the emblem of the Italian Republic: the oak leaf that symbolizes. And the olive branch representing peace and. The five columns support a row of arches that form the outer edge; inspired by the Roman Colosseum, these arches frame the repeating Stella d’Italia and the Canadian maple leaf that represent two cultures coming together. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati. Like a puzzle with a missing piece, it’s hard to imagine Canada without many of its most iconic species, including the whooping crane. The alluring whooping crane is North America’s tallest bird. It’s also one of our rarest avian friends and the focus of intensive conservation efforts over the last few decades. With its uniquely shaped cutout, this fine silver coin shines the spotlight on the whooping crane-a national symbol whose numbers are in decline in Canada’s wilderness. Mintage is limited to 5,500. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt. The reverse design by Canadian artist Trevor Tennant whisks the viewer to the northern boreal plains-specifically the remote wetlands near the border of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Detailed engraving and multiple finishes recreate the mighty forests that surround the whooping crane’s natural nesting grounds, where it builds its nest in the low vegetation that lines the shallow water. Skillfully carved to ensure a smooth edge, the crane-shaped cut-out re-creates the large bird’s unmistakable silhouette, which stands as a tribute to this great conservation icon. But the eye-catching element also delivers a powerful message; it’s a re-imagining of the landscape without its long-endangered summer resident. The reverse includes the word “CANADA”, the face value “30 DOLLARS” and the year “2017″. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Weight: 56.3 grams. Bullion Weight: 1.81 Troy Ounces. Obverse: Queen Elizabeth II. Reverse: Whooping Crane Silhouette. Monarch: Queen Elizabeth II. Theme: Wildlife, Nature, Canadiana.

A jewellery lover’s dream. Build your own collection of cherished Crown Jewels with this series of beautifully embellished coins showcasing the heirloom brooches of the Royal Family. Yours to own: A pink-hued tribute to an iconic royal brooch. One of Queen Elizabeth II’s most iconic brooches, the flower-shaped Williamson Diamond Brooch has a Canadian connection: its gorgeous pink diamond, one of the largest and finest of its kind, was a wedding gift from Canadian geologist John Thoburn Williamson. The extraordinary jewel was cut and set into a platinum-and-diamond brooch completed in 1953, the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, and was frequently worn throughout her seven-decade reign, appearing in family portraits, at State occasions and momentous celebrations – including the Silver Jubilee Service in 1977, and the weddings of two of her children. The second coin in the Crown Jewels series takes a closer look at the Williamson Diamond Brooch. The brooch’s jonquil flower on this 99.99% pure silver coin is adorned with dazzling crystals on a rhodium plated setting, while a coloured glass stone stands in for the royal jewel’s priceless pink diamond. Second coin in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Crown Jewels series. Discovered in Tanzania, the Williamson Diamond was a 54.5-carat rough stone that was cut into a 23.6-carat brilliant diamond, then placed at the centre of a platinum brooch composed of an additional 203 white diamonds. The coin’s reverse features an interpretation of the Williamson Diamond Brooch frequently worn by Queen Elizabeth II throughout her seven-decade reign. Flanked by engraved floral accents inspired by the brooch’s shape, the jewel’s five-petalled flower is a rhodium-plated setting adorned with crystals and a pink-coloured glass stone at its centre. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati. Second Crown Jewels coin.
