Gold Maple Leaf Coins were originally launched in 1979. They were the first 99.99percent pure gold coins available in the world and quickly became the standard by which other bullion coins are measured. Within decades, the Mint pushed its purity standard to the next level by introducing the worlds first 99.999percent Gold Maple Leaf Coins in 2007. Silver Maple Leaf Coins were originally launched in 1988. 75th anniversary of Dday. This listing is for the 2019 Proof Finish gold plated Silver Dollar produced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2019 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Dday landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944. This coin is taken from the 2019 fine silver proof set (75th anniversary of Dday). The dollar has on the reverse a striking design that tells the story of the Juno beach landing. It is double dated on the reverse. The obverse has a beautiful Queen’s effigy by Susanna Blunt. New lower mintage of the set is only 15,000. This silver dollar was minted in 99.99% silver and has selective gold plating on reverse and obverse. It will come to you in a 2 x 2 cardboard holder for protection (it was not issued in a separate case — but if you wish a case I have capsules and red leather clam cases that would fit–just ask).
