The coin features Ultra High Relief with exceptional detail, as well as an elegant maple leaf background design. Mintage is limited to only 7,000 coins. Over the next 40 years, Canada’s contribution in UN peacekeeping became an integral part of the country’s international role. In 1988, the UN received the Nobel Peace Prize for decades of peacekeeping activities. By then, Canada had contributed close to 80,000 peacekeepers.
