2024 CANADA $1 PARLIAMENT Emanuel Hahn's Original Sketch. 9999 Silver THIN Coin

A GREAT CANADIAN COIN GIFT! More available upon request! 9999 PURE SILVER PROOF COIN. Get a glimpse of the creative process behind the 1939 silver dollar. We’re simultaneously honouring history. Making history with this innovative thin 5 oz. Coin, which brings you an engraved representation of Emanuel Hahn’s original sketch of the 1939 silver dollar. Working off the hand-drawn mock-up preserved in the National Currency Collection of the Bank of Canada, engravers have painstakingly re-created Hahn’s preliminary “Parliament” art concept for the commemoration of the royal visit of King George VI-whose effigy appears on the obverse-and Queen Elizabeth. Every pencil mark, and even the fold lines of the original paper document, are etched upon your coin’s reverse, where the relief-struck incuse for that hand-drawn look-honours both the artist and the artwork that holds historical significance. Drawn by Hahn: Enjoy an “early” view of the 1939 silver dollar. This is the first thin 5 oz. Struck on an innovative coin blank, this thinner coin contains 5 oz. Of 99.99% pure silver but features a 50% larger diameter than a standard 5 oz. Coin, and provides more room for the art. This is a rare opportunity for collectors to own an engraved representation of an original drawing by Emanuel Hahn. It reflects the artist’s vision for the 1939 silver dollar. An important piece in Canadian numismatic history. Artist, sculptor, coin designer. Emanuel Hahn left an indelible mark on Canada’s coins, and his Bluenose (10 cents) and caribou (25 cents) designs still grace our circulation coins today. Each coin is accompanied by an art card featuring a reproduction of the original drawing by Hahn. The Royal Canadian Mint certifies all of its collector coins. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box, along with an art card featuring a reproduction of the original sketch. Wolves – gregarious family animals – do not often stare directly at man, or at each other for that matter. They are creatures of complex, almost chivalrous behavior, and perhaps they feel that eye-to-eye staring would be rude and confrontational. They do indeed make direct eye contact if they intend to confront. Perhaps this is why we find the gaze of a wolf so compelling. Perhaps the wolf includes us as a member of the pack… A feeling that is as exciting as it is unsettling. This drawing was executed on very rough paper because I wanted to give a feeling of the rough power of a wild wolf. I also enjoyed the sense of being able to share with others the feeling of the rough materials I used – coarsely textured paper and pencil. Robert Bateman is an advocate of wildlife education through learning initiatives, such as the Bateman Foundation’s Nature Sketch program. Based in Victoria, B.
